Believing in the bible
There are people that believe the old testament was done away with and we do not have to obey those laws
anymore. They believe we are under grace and this means that it doesn’t matter if we break the
commandments in the old law. I don’t understand where people get this idea because it’s not biblical.
Jesus said in Matthew 5:17-18 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to
destroy but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise
pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”
Jesus never said we no longer had to obey the commandments in the old testament. He said that nothing shall
pass from this law, and He is not going to change His mind about that just because the world has changed. If He
was against it then, He is against it today.
Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
God is not going to change His mind about the law. You can’t just make your own rules and expect God to have
mercy on you because things have changed. Does a judge look past a criminals fault just because everyone
else is guilty of the same crime? Can you imagine how you would feel if a judge started letting all murderers go
free just because things have changed? Just because immorality has become normal in today’s world, does not
mean that God can accept it. Even though the world has changed, if you are living in sin, you are still breaking
God’s law and you must repent. No matter how much you want to believe that the law has changed, God’s law
does not change.
2 John 1:6 “This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you
have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.”
As you have heard it from the (beginning)
2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for
every good work.”
(All) scripture is given by inspiration of God.
The entire bible is the true word of God and you must obey everything that it commands you to do. Things have
changed and this world is full of immorality, but God’s word remains the same and you must abide in it. The old
testament, the new testament, your entire bible, from front to back, is the perfect law of God and is to be
followed.
Some people don't want to believe in the bible at all. They will acknowledge that some of the commandments
are indeed wrong to do such as murder, but they do not believe in following a righteous style of life according to
God's commands. First of all, if you do not believe in the bible than you cannot truly believe in God.
John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only
begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”
The bible is the Who God is. It reveals everything about Himself and His laws. If you are a child of God you will
believe in His word and follow it.
Ezekiel 36:27 “I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My
judgments and do them.”
If you do not believe in the bible or are not living by it than you must repent from your own ways and follow
Christ and His ways.
