Believing in the Bible
Jesus said in Matthew 5:17-18 “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to
fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”
Jesus never said we no longer had to obey the commandments in the Bible. He said that nothing shall pass from this law, and
He is not going to change His mind about that just because the world has changed. If He was against it then, He is against it
today.
Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
You cannot just make your own rules and expect God to have mercy on you because things have changed. Does a judge look
past a criminals fault just because everyone else is guilty of the same crime? Can you imagine how you would feel if a judge
started letting all murderers go free just because things have changed? Just because immorality has become normal in today’s
world, does not mean that God can accept it. Even though the world has changed, if you are living in sin, you are still breaking
God’s law and you must repent. No matter how much you want to believe that God will let you live in sin and still go to heaven, it is
just not true.
2 John 1:6 “And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the
beginning, ye should walk in it.”
As you have heard it from the beginning
2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
All scripture is given by inspiration of God.
The entire Bible is the true word of God and you must obey everything that it commands you to do. Things have changed and this
world is full of immorality, but God’s word remains the same and you must abide in it. The Old Testament, the New Testament,
your entire Bible, from front to back, is the perfect law of God and is to be followed.
