Immorality in professing Christians
47% of college age students who get drunk regularly, profess to be Christian.
38% of marijuana smokers proclaim to be Christian.
50% of church going men and 20% of church going woman are addicted to pornography.
57% of unmarried proclaiming Christians are living in a sexual relationship.
What does the bible say?
It's a sin to get drunk?
Ephesians 5:18 “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.”
And don't make your birthday or new years an excuse to sin. Christianity is about loyalty to God's Word and God commands you
to abide in His law at all times, not just when it is suitable for you.
1 Thessalonians 4:7 “For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.”
Why can't I get high? It's not like it hurts anyone else
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the
temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."
What is wrong with looking at pornography?
Jesus said in Matthew 5:28 "But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery
with her already in his heart."
Sex outside of marriage is wrong? What if we are in love?
Ephesians 5:3 "But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh
saints."
1 Thessalonians 4:3 "For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication."
Being in love makes no difference when God has commanded you to follow His Word. Who do you love more, God or your
boyfriend or girl friend? What about oral sex? Oral sex is still sex and should not be done outside of marriage. Even foreplay and
heavy kissing is unrighteous for unmarried couples and should be avoided.
1 Corinthians 6:20 "For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."
So what do we say about those who say they are a Christian and yet live in these sins?
1 John 2:3-5 “And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth
not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God
perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.”
Philippians 3:18-19 “(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of
the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly
things.)”
Many of those who profess to know Christ are living in a vain Christianity that will lead them to hell. Only 1 out of 40 people who
say they are Christian are actually born again
Jesus said in Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to
destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life,
and few there be that find it.”
If you are living in immorality, you must repent and believe the gospel to be saved.
