You must be perfect to go to heaven
A person must be perfect in order to enter heaven.
Psalm 24:3-5 “Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a
pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and
righteousness from the God of his salvation.”
Psalm 118:20 “This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.”
Why?
God is Holy, Righteous, and completely Perfect in every way. God's Holiness is so great that any sin that came into His presence
would be destroyed. You see, God cannot allow a sinner into heaven because it's not possible. God's Spirit will destroy anything
that is unrighteous.
2 Thessalonians 2:8 "And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and
shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:"
Remember Adam and Eve? They chose to forsake the will of God and they committed sin by eating the forbidden fruit. This
corrupted them, and because they were no longer perfect, God had to be separated from them and He drove them out of the
garden of Eden.
You might say, "Well, we're all going to hell then, because nobody is perfect." The first thing you need to understand is that those
who are in Christ are made perfect through Him.
Hebrews 10:14 “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”
We are not perfect in the flesh, but only in the spirit, because you receive the Spirit of God.
Ezekiel 36:27 “And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do
them.”
Your flesh will remain sinful until you die or are raptured.
1 Corinthians 15:50 “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption
inherit incorruption.”
1 Corinthians 15:53 “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”
But in order for this to happen, you must be born again. If you're not sure if you have been born again
