Many people do not believe in the rapture simply because the word rapture is not in the bible. Just because the word rapture is
not in the bible does not mean it is not an event that will happen. The word rapture comes from the Latin word "raptus", which
means
"caught up"

So where do we have "caught up" in the bible?

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and
with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be
caught up together
with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

The rapture is simply a word used for this event when we are
caught up to meet Jesus.

"What is the purpose of the rapture?"

1 Corinthians 15:50 “Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption
inherit incorruption.”

In order to go to heaven, you must  be perfect. When a person is born again, they are made perfect in Christ, because it is now
Christ living in them. However, they are still in their original body. Their body will be made perfect at the event of the rapture.

1 Corinthians 15:51-53 "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the
twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be
changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”
