Salvation is a FREE GIFT!
Jesus said in John 3:6-7, "That which is born of the flesh IS flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit IS spirit. Marvel not that I
said unto thee, Ye must be born again."
Romans 8:10 "And if Christ be in you, the body IS dead because of sin; but the Spirit IS life because of righteousness."
Hebrews 10:14 "For by one offering he hath PERFECTED FOR EVER them that ARE sanctified."
You are not "being" saved, not "being" sanctified. You ARE saved and ARE sanctified, and you DO have eternal security. That is
power of God in regeneration.
I am not longer my own, I have been bought with a price that only Christ could pay for. When I was born again, I was totally
changed into the righteousness of God and did not have to work to be righteous, because His righteousness worked in me.
Romans 10:4 "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth."
After I believed, I was made new and hated sin, but loved righteousness. I was made into a new creature with God's heart, God's
mind, and God's Spirit.
Ezekiel 36:27 "And I will put my spirit within you, and CAUSE YOU to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and
do them."
This is what it means to be born again. You become a new creature and you are not your own anymore.
Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he IS a new creature: old things are passed away; behold,
ALL things are become new."
In Galatians 2:20 "Paul said, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me."
You do not have to try to do good works and follow the commands, because it is now God living in you and performing these
things in you.
Philippians 1:6 "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you WILL PERFORM IT until the day of
Jesus Christ."
1 Peter 1:23 "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth FOR
EVER."
You WILL abide in Him FOR EVER. If you go back into the world or stop doing the commandments of God and remain there, you
did NOT lose your salvation, YOU NEVER HAD SALVATION.
1 John 2:19 "They went out from us, but they were NOT of us; for if they had been of us, they would NO DOUBT have CONTINUED
with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were NOT AT ALL OF US."
You cannot lose salvation. If you walk away from the faith, you NEVER had salvation in the first place.
Jeremiah 32:40 "And I will make an EVERLASTING covenant with them, that I WILL NOT turn away from them, to do them good;
but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they SHALL NOT DEPART FROM ME."
If you are saved, you are now a new creature, born again into the righteousness of God in Christ. This is an event that takes
place when you believe.
If you trust in works for salvation, then you do not believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ. You are saved by grace, not by
works.
Ephesians 2:8-10 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: NOT OF WORKS, lest
any man should boast. For we are HIS workmanship, created IN Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained
that we should walk in them."
Again, once you are born again, it is Jesus who works the righteousness in you.
Titus 3:5-6 "NOT by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of
regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour."
Salvation is all a work of God, not a work of man. We cannot do anything to gain or earn salvation. If you could continue keeping
commandments in order to get saved, then salvation would not be of God alone, it would be of man. This would give men
something to boast about. They could get to heaven and say, "I made it, because I continued, and I kept the commands, and I
repented and I I I. There is NO work of God in that kind of belief. If any man gets to heaven it will not be by anything that man
could possibly do.
Romans 3:27 "Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith."
God alone gets the glory, because God alone saves a man!
Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is NOT justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have
believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the
law shall NO flesh be justified.
Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
If you have to continue to keep the commandments in order to be saved, then Jesus Christ died in vain. His death on the cross
would be worthless if you could be saved by works.
Galatians 5:4 "Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace."
In Romans 11:6 Paul said, And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace."
Salvation is a FREE GIFT!
Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
Jesus is saying that if you are working to be righteous, come to Him and He will give you rest. He will save you and you will
naturally do good and reject evil, because it is now Christ who lives in you.
In Acts 16:30 a prison keeper came to Paul and Silas and asked, What must I do to be saved? In verse 31 Paul and Silas
answered him saying, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Notice that they did not tell him that he must
obey the law of God before he could be saved. Notice how they did not tell him to ask Jesus into his heart or tell him to ask
Jesus to forgive his sin. They simply told him to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and he would be saved.
In John 19:30, Jesus was on the cross, and right before He died, He said, It is finished. What is finished? Sin has been paid for!
He did not say, It is finished, now is all people must do is struggle their entire life to keep all my commandments and they will be
saved. Salvation is a free gift of Gods grace to all those who believe on the finished work of Jesus Christ. He paid it all and does
not tell you to do anything to receive it or to even ask for it, He simply tells you to believe.
Jesus said in John 6:47, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life."
Do not put trust in works for your salvation. Salvation is in Christ alone. Not of works, not of your own ability; it is all a work of God.
If you want to be saved, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ by faith alone and you shall be saved!
